National Eagle CenterI made my first ever visit to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. It's a great place to learn anything and everything about eagles. Of course, the best part is that they have several eagles that can be seen up close. These are birds that have been injured or sick and brought to the center to be rehabilitated. The birds they have there cannot be returned to the wild for many reasons. Mostly they can no long fly and would not be able to hunt for food. While there, I was able to see some eagles flying over the Mississippi. In winter, Bald Eagles are known to flock to this area due to open water in the river giving them a place to find food.
